i hate, absolutely hate myself for not skipping out on work and spending three days in portland with heather ross at this PNCA workshop. i mean seriously...why didn't i do this. i would have learned soooo much and would have had my very own fabric to take home.

tonight i'm off to grand southern oregon where i will be going kayaking for the first time tomorrow. it took some serious convincing for me to agree to this..i have this fear of getting trapped under the kayak, my legs are stuck inside and getting swept away in the current just like that..
apparently though on this stretch of river, simply standing up can solve any near death expierences annnd 10 year old girls can do it- so i will be tightening up my life jacket right about now tomorrow and cracking open the first pbr of the day.

no good reason at all as to why i chose to take such a vacation away from the blog world. several things were working against me, but still no excuse. i would still look at my favorite blogs daily and plot my return to blogging in my head. today is the day--all of my two friends who read this-- that i start my come back. one of my biggest time taker uppers lately has been my sewing machine, which goes down in the books as the best birthday/christmas present ever. a snazzy singer with such easy functions and about 30 different stitches, i love it.

anywho. a while back i started making place mats and napkins and such. these little ones are my latest for a little girl named scarlett. such an adorable girl, with such an adorable name deserves to wipe her hands with such adorable napkins.

Well hello Hillary! What a flawless first senior photo shoot I had. The weather was perfect and wow, Bush Park downtown is amazing. Hillary is such a fun girl, super into computer graphics, photography and all of the above...plus look at her,this is beautiful

I can't think of two people in the world who make more sense together than Jay and Marla Vanderweide. Their love is obvious and plentiful. They really are my second parents and I know that is true for alot of Tylers friends. I cried when I heard they were getting married and I was a mess during the reception. I am surprised my camera didn't have any water damage. It was a stressful pre-wedding for them I am sure, as we didnt communicate very well on where we were meeting for pre-wedding pictures. But know that I have gone through all of the pictures "everything happens for a reason" is once again restored in my heart. The exact light hitting my lens at this exact moment allowed us all to know without doubt that infact Tyler was there that day. Jay says he knew when the out of no where the door in the church slammed. Someone outside of "our family" might just shrug that off, but these photos-- there is no denying it. I love you both so much and I hope you both know what an inspiration you are. Just by being yourselves.

i love this vineyard- i took pictures there before last fall when all the leaves were a huge yellow, autumn versions of themselves.

Meet Allyson-once just my friends sister, now a friend and Tyghe... the young young love birds that were brave enough to let a newbie shoot their entire wedding alone...Allyson was the farthest thing from a bridezilla-so that made it very relaxing. Thank you two for letting me be a part of it! Congratulations!!

it was love at first sight for me and these adorable great grandparents..they arrived respectfully early and outlasted all other couples during the anniversary dance..

This was an amazing weekend for me. Friday night was Alyssa and Shanes wedding. I went to take candid shots as well as to wrangle the kids. Saturday was Allyson and Tyghes big day. so these are my first colored 120 film prints. Color is definitely the way to go when it comes to the diana. These pictures are from our trip to Omak. This trip for some reason seemed to have a western theme throughout the week..rylan got a cowboy hat..we hit ever western store in a 20 mile radius and me and nic got to have an afternoon on the back country roads to green lake ...i loved growing up in a beautifully simple country side....until i started wanting to do more in day then just throw rocks at cars :)

Bailee has definetly been my picture taking practice baby. And this whole adventure got me thinking to do birthday packages-for those kids who are too cute to not have their pictures everywhere.

there is a commercial running on local channels around here right now celebrating oregons 150th birthday. its one of those really well written, easy to listen to type tv commercials. it says something to the effect of "..oregons turns are just like letters unfolding from an envelope of love.." i have driven those scenes and it is like no other. sorry to those of you on the east coast. oregon is whats up.

really if you havent driven the historic highway yet through the Columbia Gorge you should asap. i cant wait to go with cody and explore so much more--instead of just driving through on a holiday weekend.

so i made my monthly goodwill rounds got some great peices AND scored such cute shoes! ha NICCI!! what did you pay for those? 30 or something? 8 bucks baby. Another reason why i love target, they apparently donate to goodwill... what a terrific combination.

Also i took stock of my inventory i guess i'll call it. see i have an addiction to buying kitchen and housewares. i just love it all, and they its useful..even though everything is tucked away right now. waiting for me and cody to move in together and then they will get all to shine.

I have plenty already for the two of us, but i know that wont stop me from buying more.

It was a fun a couple of hours, 1c. & 1/2c. you will be missed

When Cody came to visit we drove up to Mcminville to pick up derrick and then headed out to the ocean. This day was the first pretty day in a while, and it was absolutley gorgeous..So much fun climbing on rocks and playing with derricks rugby ball.. Lunch was eaten at Mo's i wish i was more seafood adventurous, but I think cody more than makes up for my lack of seafood love.

This Tuesday Im makig the long 8 hour drive up to Omak for Thanksgiving in my small town. While cleaning and packing and getting things in order... an idea sparked with just a box of matches. and just like that this little travel jewlery box was born. Its personal, incredibly sturdy and unique. Im in love!
